The Internationalisation Strategy Grant Scheme is requesting applications to support SMEs in developing strategies to enter international markets by part-financing external services that enhance efficiency, competitiveness, and global market reach.
The focus areas, include promoting entrepreneurship, facilitating the economic exploitation of new ideas, fostering the creation of new firms including through business incubators, enhancing sustainable growth and competitiveness of SMEs, promoting job creation in SMEs, supporting innovative and smart economic transformation, strengthening regional ICT connectivity, identifying global opportunities, conducting market analysis, assessing feasibility, creating country-specific market entry strategies, developing marketing and sales plans, planning financial and operational resources, and evaluating and mitigating risks in international expansion.
This scheme is structured in two parts: Part 1 focuses on studying opportunities abroad, including business overview, global market analysis, feasibility assessment, and recommendations for market focus; Part 2 addresses strategy development for selected countries, including country-specific analysis, market entry strategy, marketing and sales strategy, financial and operational planning, and risk management.
The program will remain operational until 31st December 2026, with an initial budget of €500,000. The maximum grant per undertaking is €20,000, with Part 1 applications capped at €10,000 and a combined total for both parts not exceeding €20,000. Eligible participants include micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises actively engaged in economic activity for at least one year, irrespective of legal form, and registered under the applicable legal framework if not vested with a legal personality.
