Screen Territory is offering funding of up to $30,000 to support game developers in creating a polished core gameplay experience that allows players to engage with a strong representation of the full release gameplay.
The program focuses on premium and free-to-play games, live-ops development, and entertainment games aimed at a mass audience. This funding provides developers with the opportunity to bring a clear vision of their game to life, ensuring that core gameplay is engaging and representative of the final product while supporting the growth of the Northern Territory’s interactive entertainment industry.
Applicants must meet several requirements, including being Australian citizens and Northern Territory residents if applying as individuals, or being a Northern Territory company if applying as a business. Individuals must be over 18, and companies may submit applications on behalf of genuine co-productions with non-NT companies. Applicants and key creative team members must not be in default on any previous grants or obligations with Screen Territory or Northern Territory Government agencies, and all applicants must demonstrate the capacity and right to carry out the proposed project, including necessary copyright or clearances. Other eligibility conditions include acting in good faith, not being associated with a broadcaster, not having conflicts of interest with the Northern Territory Government, and not being current students of film or digital media courses.
Applications must include one-page CVs and bios for the applicant and key creative team members, chain of title documents, and a 10-page creative pitch covering the game’s title, introduction, gameplay mechanics, visuals, progression, audio, and development team. A project plan must also be provided, detailing the target platforms, income generation strategy, audience plan, competitor and market analysis, evidence of interested distributors or publishers, licenses and development kits, company details and ABN, development timeline with key milestones, budget including Northern Territory expenditure, and stipulated deliverables.
