Deadline Date: May 17, 2026
The UNICEF Venture Fund is inviting startups to apply for funding to develop frontier technology solutions at the intersection of climate and children’s health.
The focus areas for this initiative are strategic planning, early warning and early action, healthcare readiness, and point-of-care support.
The Venture Fund invests in open-source frontier technology solutions from emerging markets, seeking climate-focused startups that have the potential to create radical change for children. Companies leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, and other frontier technologies are encouraged to apply, particularly those with innovative and scalable solutions ready to deploy in low-resource or emergency settings.
Applicants can receive up to $100,000 in equity-free funding for early-stage and ready-to-deploy technologies. The fund aims to identify and pilot promising frontier technologies to develop scalable platforms that UNICEF can use across multiple applications and country contexts. By investing in clusters or portfolios of initiatives, UNICEF can shape markets, learn from technology sectors, and ensure that even if individual projects fail, the overall portfolio benefits children.
Through this initiative, the Venture Fund champions diversity, inclusion, and frontier tech innovation while addressing the urgent and multidimensional threats that climate change poses to children globally.
