The Fedima is seeking grant applications to support and promote local sustainable practices in the bakery and patisserie sector.
Aims
- Through this initiative, Fedima aims to empower innovative, sustainable solutions while strengthening the bakery and patisserie sectors and creating lasting community impacts.
Topics
- Initiatives should align with sustainability goals and may address topics such as (but not limited to):
- Circular economy
- Waste reduction
- Energy emissions
- Water management
- Sustainable packaging
- Responsible sourcing
- Nutrition & Health
- Affordability/Availability of Food
Funding Information
- The grant amount is € 20,000 euros
- The funds will be allocated from Fedima’s yearly budget
- The funds will be transferred in instalments, as outlined below:
- 50% provided upfront,
- 30% provided during the implementation phase, and
- 20% provided upon completion of the project and submission of the results.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants are considered eligible for competing for this grant if they fulfil the following criteria (cumulative):
- The initiative must be made by a company/small business (e.g., craft baker, bakery, small producer) or a research institute. To determine whether an applicant qualifies as a small business, the European Commission’s definition will be used, which considers a small business as one with an annual turnover of less than €10 million
- Candidate organisations must be active in the bakery, patisserie or confectionery food chain
- Candidate-initiatives must be local and based in Europe2 (EU + EFTA, UK, TU)
- Candidate organisations cannot be a Fedima member (national association), a company member of a national association of Fedima or any entities affiliated
- Purpose of candidate-initiatives must be to contribute or to promote sustainability (sustainable development, sustainable innovation, full list and examples below) in the bakery and patisserie sectors.
