The Feasibility Study Grant Scheme is inviting applications to support enterprises in evaluating the viability and sustainability of proposed business ideas or projects through structured research and analysis.
The focus areas of this scheme include Health and Well-being, Sustainable Use of Resources for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation, Smart Manufacturing, Marine and Maritime Technology, Aviation and Aerospace, and Future Digital Technologies. The scheme also prioritizes promoting entrepreneurship by facilitating the economic exploitation of new ideas, fostering the creation of new firms, and developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities through the uptake of advanced technologies.
This grant scheme helps enterprises cover the costs of researching their proposed business or new business idea to determine its feasibility and identify the resources required to implement it successfully. The Feasibility Study scheme falls under Policy Objective 1 of the SFC2021 Programme 2021–2027, promoting a smarter and more competitive Europe through innovative economic transformation and regional ICT connectivity. It encourages enterprises to explore advanced technologies and supports a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship aligned with Malta’s Smart Specialisation Strategy for 2021–2027.
The scheme will remain active until 31 December 2026, subject to fund availability, with an initial budget of €2,000,000. The maximum grant value per undertaking is €100,000, and in cases where multiple applications are approved for a single undertaking, the total funding cannot exceed this amount.
Eligible applicants include micro, small, medium-sized, and small mid-cap enterprises engaged in economic activity, irrespective of legal form. Undertakings without legal personality must be registered under the Second Schedule of the Civil Code to be considered eligible.
