Uttlesford District Council (UDC) is inviting applications for its Visitor Economy and Hospitality Fund to support micro, small and medium sized visitor economy and hospitality businesses located in the geographical area of Uttlesford.
The applicant must demonstrate how the investment will help their business move forward and deliver their business plan and long-term goals.
UDC Strategic Objectives
- Funding (capital grants) for small scale investment in micro, small and medium enterprises in rural areas. Including capital funding for net zero infrastructure for rural businesses, and diversification of farm businesses outside of agriculture to encourage start up, expansion or scale up of these businesses where this involves converting farm buildings into other commercial or business uses
- Purchase of equipment for food processing for non-farmer owned businesses to support expansion or diversification
- Funding (capital grants) for the development and promotion (both trade and consumer) of the visitor economy
Funding Information
- Capital grants of between £1,000 – £25,000 will be available to support new and existing rural visitor economy and hospitality businesses to develop new products and facilities. This includes the creation of new facilities to diversify or increase visitor numbers / income streams, investment in new machinery/technology etc to improve productivity.
- Businesses will be able to apply for up to 60% of eligible project costs.
Eligible Projects
- They would specifically like to see projects that focus on investments that will support new products and facilities, modernisation and improving business efficiency.

- Funding is available to micro, small and medium sized visitor economy and hospitality businesses located in the geographical area of Uttlesford.
