Deadline Date: January 20, 2026
The Ministry of Culture of Greece has issued a fresh call for proposals under its Music programme for 2026, offering a significant opportunity for non‑profit music organizations and cultural groups across the country.
This initiative invites eligible institutions—public or private, nonprofit and with cultural or charitable objectives—to submit requests for funding or sponsorship to support music performances, concerts, music festivals, philharmonic activities, tours and other music‑related events.
Eligible applicants must have been legally established by 31 October 2025 and, if operating in collaboration with other bodies (including foreign partners), the application must be submitted by a Greek entity. Only one proposal per organization is allowed across the various funding programmes under the current call cycle. The opportunity is open to a broad variety of musical endeavours including individual concerts, multi‑day festivals, philharmonic events, touring productions, educational music programmes, symposia and other music‑related cultural activities.
Applicants must be registered in the official Registry of Cultural Actors, and those with prior experience must submit artistic and financial reports for recent years; newly formed entities must submit a 2026 operational plan. For organizations previously granted public funding, detailed reports for each past funded project are required. Proposals will be assessed based on how well they align with the Ministry’s priorities, the artistic quality and coherence of the project, realistic budgeting and planning, professional involvement, and a commitment to fair compensation for artists.
Special evaluation criteria apply to music- and festival-related projects: emphasis is placed on promoting Greek composers and contemporary musical creation, encouraging experimental or genre-blending works, facilitating collaborations among musicians from diverse musical traditions, and promoting mobility — including international participation. Proposals that integrate digital technologies or new media, reflect innovation, and offer long-term potential for growth are particularly welcomed. The call especially encourages projects with the potential to reach underserved communities or promote cultural engagement in regions outside major urban areas.
This funding round presents an important chance for music ensembles, festivals, cultural organizations and collectives in Greece to realize ambitious musical projects with institutional backing. For those with vision, creativity, and the capacity to organize performances or festivals — whether traditional, contemporary or cross‑genre — this initiative can provide the resources and legitimacy needed to reach wider audiences, support professional artists, and contribute to the enrichment of Greece’s cultural and musical landscape.
