Deadline Date: December 09, 2025
The Akwa Ibom State Government presents this platform to recognize and reward every citizen—from commercial farmers to backyard gardeners—who contributes to the food security.
The focus areas of the opportunity are Home Farmers producing cassava, maize, yam, vegetables, and more; Fish Farmers operating small or large-scale fishponds around their homes; Youth Farmers building agricultural enterprises within their homes; and School Farm Managers with teachers and students cultivating school farms.
This initiative urges every citizen to cultivate their own space, whether through a backyard garden, small-scale production, or an organized farm. It aims to make farming a household practice and a shared contribution to agricultural growth across the state.
Residents are encouraged to identify and utilize any available space to plant or rear food resources that contribute to family welfare and community food supply. The inclusion of home farmers, youth farmers, fish farmers, and school farm managers highlights a broad and inclusive approach designed to engage all demographics in agricultural development.
The initiative reinforces the state’s commitment to making agriculture a sustainable and collective responsibility by ensuring that every household takes part in food production.
