Deadline Date: May 12, 2026
The Cooperative Research Centres Projects (CRC-P) Grants offer a unique opportunity for Australian SMEs to engage in short-term, industry-led research collaborations.
The program focuses on developing a product, service, or process that will solve problems for industry and deliver real outcomes while benefiting small to medium enterprises.
These grants support matched funding of between $100,000 and $3 million for projects lasting up to three years. The CRC-P Grants are designed for collaborations between at least two Australian industry organisations and one Australian research organisation, with the lead organisation being a small to medium enterprise. The funding can be used to cover costs directly related to the project, including new research, proof of concept activities, pre-commercialisation of research outcomes, industry-focused education and training activities, conferences, workshops, symposia related to the joint research, and information sharing and communications related to the research.
To be eligible as a lead applicant, an SME must have an Australian business number (ABN), be registered for Goods and Services Tax (GST), be incorporated in Australia, and be a trading corporation. The lead SME must have trading activities that are significant enough to be considered a major part of overall operations. Project partners must include a second Australian industry organisation of any size and one Australian research organisation. The lead SME organisation is responsible for submitting the application form.
