Deadline: 31-December-2025
The City of Whittlesea has introduced the Business to Business (B2B) Grant Program to support local businesses in strengthening their operations, networks, and sustainability through targeted funding support.
Focus Areas/Objectives/Priorities/Themes: The objectives of the B2B Grant Program are to build business-to-business capability and relationships, enable access to services and suppliers that will help elevate or improve businesses, such as developing a marketing plan, tender writing assistance, or conducting a sustainability audit of the business, and contribute toward building a prosperous and inclusive economy for all.
The Business to Business (B2B) Grant Program is designed to assist small businesses within the City of Whittlesea by supporting them to procure local products and services from approved local vendors. The initiative aims to encourage greater B2B interaction and transactions, build membership within the City of Whittlesea Business Network (WBN), and strengthen local supply chains to promote wealth generation and long-term community sustainability.
Funding of up to $10,000 per individual application is available through two program streams: Stream 1 – Business Improvement and Innovation, and Stream 2 – Elevating Your Business. The funding operates on a matched dollar-for-dollar basis, requiring businesses to demonstrate their financial contribution equal to the grant amount before receiving payment after successful project completion.
Stream 1 supports business improvement and innovation activities such as website development, e-commerce setup, marketing and financial planning, business coaching, cybersecurity education, and sustainability-focused initiatives like energy efficiency and waste reduction. Stream 2 helps micro and small businesses enhance their commercial presence by supporting façade improvements, accessibility upgrades, indoor and outdoor fit-outs, and physical space activation.
To be eligible, applicants must be registered members of the City of Whittlesea Business Network, hold an active ABN, demonstrate financial viability, and maintain appropriate insurance coverage. Preference will be given to applicants sourcing goods and services from local WBN members. Businesses with an electronic gaming license, political affiliations, or non-compliance with previous grant conditions are ineligible.
The program is managed by the City of Whittlesea through a competitive, merit-based assessment process overseen by the Council’s Grant Steering Committee. Successful projects must be completed within a 12-month delivery period, with acquittal reports required to confirm outcomes and financial use.
