Deadline Date: March 03, 2026
The Yukon Fish and Wildlife Enhancement Trust supports initiatives that safeguard and strengthen Yukon’s fish, wildlife, and natural habitats for present and future generations.
The focus areas, objectives, and priorities of the Trust include restoring fish and wildlife populations, protecting and enhancing natural habitats, supporting environmental stewardship, promoting fish and wildlife recovery programs, and advancing education and awareness related to Yukon’s natural environment. The Yukon Fish and Wildlife Enhancement Trust announces its annual call for proposals each year in early January, inviting applications from a wide range of proponents committed to environmental conservation and enhancement. The Trust’s mandate reflects the importance of maintaining a healthy environment amid increasing pressures on Yukon’s natural ecosystems.
Funding requests of up to $15,000 are encouraged, although proposals for any amount may be considered. This flexible approach allows the Trust to support both small-scale and larger initiatives that align with its conservation objectives. Supported projects may include fish and wildlife recovery initiatives as well as education and awareness campaigns that promote understanding and responsible stewardship of Yukon’s natural resources. The Trust actively encourages new and innovative project proposals that address current and emerging environmental challenges.
Eligible applicants include communities, community groups, renewable resource councils, non-profit organizations, businesses, and individuals. This broad eligibility ensures that a diverse range of perspectives and expertise can contribute to the protection and enhancement of Yukon’s fish, wildlife, and habitats. As a registered charitable organization, the Trust also accepts donations and provides charitable tax receipts for eligible gifts. Contributions support the Trust’s ongoing efforts to conserve Yukon’s natural bounty while offering donors associated tax benefits.
