Deadline Date: January 30, 2026
Entries are now open for Technology Innovation for Commercialization Program (TECHNiCOM) to fast-track the transfer, utilization, and commercialization of R&D outputs to contribute to the country’s sustainable development through relevant technological platforms.
A new program is offering priority funding for pre-commercialization activities of innovative projects that align with national science and technology priorities and contribute to long-term national development.
Funding will focus on a wide range of priority sectors for 2026, including waste and water resource management, medical and health technologies, renewable energy, climate resilience and disaster risk reduction, agriculture and forestry, chemical technologies, electronics, information and communication technologies, construction technologies, manufacturing linked to the automotive and electric vehicle supply chain, and supply chain and logistics management. Supported projects may cover areas such as smart water and waste systems, health and diagnostic technologies, clean energy solutions, early warning systems, precision agriculture tools, advanced materials, robotics, artificial intelligence, digital construction, transport modernization, and technology-enabled logistics.
There is no funding cap for proposals under this program. Projects with a total cost of less than five million pesos will be reviewed and approved by the DOST-TAPI Executive Committee, while proposals with total project costs of five million pesos or more will be evaluated by the TECHNiCOM Program Advisory Committee. All approved projects will have a fixed duration of one year.
Eligible proponents include research and development institutes, state universities and colleges, private higher education institutions, startup companies, spin-offs and cooperatives. For academic and research institutions, eligibility requires that prior research and development activities were funded by their own institution, DOST offices or institutes, or non-DOST organizations, provided the work was not funded or managed by DOST sectoral councils.
Startup companies and firms applying to the program must have been operating for at least one year and not more than seven years. Eligible startups include those registered as corporations as well as those registered with the appropriate national agencies. This funding opportunity aims to accelerate the transition of research outputs into viable technologies and solutions that address key national challenges and support sustainable economic growth.
