The Advancing Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) Program is MTN Uganda’s flagship initiative focused on empowering women-owned businesses and promoting inclusive economic growth.
Launched in October 2023, the program is implemented in partnership with leading organizations, including dfcu Bank – Women in Business, American Towers Company Uganda, The Innovation Village, Private Sector Foundation Uganda, and NSSF Hi Innovators.
AWE is designed to strengthen the supply base, foster strategic partnerships, and create sustainable ecosystems within the supply chain. The program provides women entrepreneurs with mentorship, training, and access to valuable networks, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to overcome common barriers in finance, technology, and market visibility.
By supporting women-led businesses, the AWE Program aims to drive inclusion, enhance business resilience, and create long-term growth opportunities. Through its comprehensive approach, the initiative not only strengthens individual enterprises but also contributes to a more equitable and thriving economic landscape in Uganda.
