The Young Entrepreneur Fund by Simply Business is awarding £5,000 each to ten young entrepreneurs to help start or grow their business.
The focus areas are £5,000 each to ten young business owners, six weeks of tailored business support with our charity partner Hatch Enterprise, unique value of your product or service, whether the business is viable, whether you can prove a demand for the business, ambitions and plans for growth, any evidence of innovation or impact, how you would use the grant and business support programme to grow your business.
Applications for the Young Entrepreneur Fund opened on 14 August 2025 and will close at 23:59 on 9 October 2025. The competition is open to UK residents aged between 18 and 30, with one entry allowed per person and per business. Winners will be announced on or before 20 November 2025. Following the announcement, the winners will begin a compulsory six-week business support programme in January 2026 before receiving the £5,000 grant.
In addition to the main prizes, three runners-up will receive an exclusive mentoring opportunity. Each runner-up will gain three one-to-one mentoring sessions designed to share insights into starting and scaling a successful business at a young age.
Applicants should explain why they deserve to win, what makes their business unique, and how they will use the grant and business support programme to strengthen their venture. Longer responses can be prepared separately and then copied into the application form.
Hatch Enterprise, the charity partner for the fund, has supported over 9,000 UK entrepreneurs since 2013 through programmes designed to build skills, knowledge, and confidence for sustainable business growth. Simply Business, one of the UK’s largest providers of business insurance, launched the fund to address gaps in finance and mentoring opportunities that often prevent young entrepreneurs from succeeding.
