The Starter Company Plus Grant – Trade Accelerator Stream is designed to support businesses in the City of Toronto that are looking to expand their reach into international markets.
The program offers a combination of practical training, expert mentorship, and a micro-grant of $5,000 to help small businesses build export capacity and accelerate growth globally.
Applicants will receive an email acknowledging receipt of their application. It is the responsibility of the applicant to contact the program provider if they do not receive this acknowledgement within two days of submission.
To be eligible for the Starter Company Plus Grant – Trade Accelerator Stream, applicants must meet several requirements. They must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, be at least 18 years of age, and not be attending school or planning to return to school during the program. Participants are expected to devote a minimum of 35 hours per week to their small business and must not be employed elsewhere. Additionally, applicants cannot be enrolled in any other government-funded program and must reside in the Province of Ontario, providing proof of their physical address.
Final decisions regarding eligibility and other program considerations are made by the Manager of Entrepreneurship Services. By meeting these requirements, Toronto-based entrepreneurs can gain access to the training, mentorship, and funding needed to take their businesses to international markets and accelerate growth.
