The National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) is seeking applications to support a commissioned project focused on advancing large-scale production of low-emission and renewable synthetic fuels to strengthen Poland’s energy security and economic competitiveness.
The focus areas of this opportunity are increase the use of socio-economic research results in shaping national and regional development policies by 2028 and a program for the development of large-scale production of low-emission and renewable synthetic fuels based on domestic energy resources for the needs of difficult-to-decarbonize industrial and transport sectors, in order to ensure Poland’s energy security and economic competitiveness.
The 14th call for proposals under the GOSPOSTRATEG Program aims to select contractors for a project submitted by the Ministry of Energy. This project centers on research and development activities that will support the future production of renewable and low-emission synthetic fuels, particularly for industrial and transport sectors that face challenges in reducing emissions. The program seeks to ensure that socio-economic research directly contributes to shaping national and regional policies.
The total allocation for this call is PLN 20 million, with the maximum funding per project also set at PLN 20 million. Funding covers up to 100% of eligible costs, and projects must be carried out exclusively as non-commercial activities by both the consortium leader and members. The maximum duration allowed for project implementation is 36 months.
The competition is open to consortia consisting exclusively of non-enterprises: research organisations, commercial law companies, foundations and associations. The maximum number of entities in a consortium is five, including at least two research organisations.
The National Centre for Research and Development provides funding for projects that include basic research, industrial research, experimental development work and mandatory pre-implementation work. The structure of the program ensures that all project components are advanced from research stages through development and into pre-implementation to support practical outcomes.
