Deadline Date: April 16, 2026
The European Commission is seeking applications to support urban manufacturers in adopting circular and sustainable practices, aligning with Europe’s climate, pollution reduction, and biodiversity objectives.
Proposals should focus on increasing resource efficiency and circular material use in urban manufacturing, advancing clean and circular business practices, and improving knowledge sharing of digital tools. Objectives include implementing systemic circular solutions, addressing challenges in urban manufacturing, and ensuring economic and environmental benefits. The involvement of local authorities, economic operators, civil society organizations, and social sciences experts is crucial. Proposals should align with the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI) and relevant EU initiatives like the New European Bauhaus and the Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission.
Grants of up to €18,000,000, with an average grant of €6,000,000, are available for innovative projects in urban manufacturing and circular economy transitions.
This initiative supports the transition of urban manufacturing to sustainable, circular practices, addressing pollution, social inequality, and economic challenges in urban areas. Urban manufacturers should implement circular solutions that reduce material use, mitigate environmental degradation, and improve local economies. Proposals must engage local stakeholders, including economic operators and authorities, and contribute to Europe’s circular economy goals.
Proposals should also work with the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI) and explore synergies with other EU initiatives to maximize impact and ensure scalable solutions.
