The TiHAN at IIT Hyderabad invites startup proposals to support innovative ideas in autonomous navigation and related technologies through funding, mentorship, and advanced infrastructure.
The focus areas of this call include autonomous ground, aerial, and water vehicles; applications in agriculture, defence, and disaster management; infrastructure monitoring such as power lines, pipelines, and rail; surveillance across terrestrial, maritime, and aerial domains; environmental monitoring covering air, water, and industry; and technological priorities such as AI and machine learning for navigation and sensory data aggregation, IoT and cyber-physical systems for Indian autonomous systems, networking protocols including DSRC and CV2X, edge computing for sensor processing, robotics for smart mobility, swarm intelligence and autonomous coordination, control, power, and design for UAVs and ROVs, and connected aerial, underwater, and terrestrial vehicles.
The programme offers funding of up to ₹15 lakhs and has a duration of 12 months, providing startups with both financial support and sufficient time to develop and refine their technologies.
The initiative is led by TiHAN at IIT Hyderabad, which focuses on research, design, and development of autonomous navigation and data acquisition systems for unmanned aerial vehicles, remotely operated vehicles, and other autonomous systems. It works in collaboration with industry and academia to encourage innovation and enable real-world deployment of advanced technologies.
Through this call, startups are encouraged to submit proposals that align with the identified thrust areas, aiming to accelerate the development of cutting-edge solutions capable of addressing practical challenges. Selected startups will benefit from an innovation ecosystem that supports growth and experimentation.
To be eligible, applicants must be Indian companies with at least 51 percent Indian ownership and must be registered under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade startup policy, although pre-registration is allowed. Startups should be incubated in government-supported technology parks and must have valid balance sheets and required documentation.
