Deadline Date: Ongoing
The IIT Hyderabad’s TiHAN Foundation is seeking experienced startups to develop innovative autonomous navigation technologies with financial and mentorship support.
The program focuses on advancing research, design, and development of autonomous navigation and data acquisition systems for UAVs, ROVs, and other platforms, aiming to translate innovative technologies into commercially viable solutions. It supports projects that combine industry and academic collaborations to maximize the impact of autonomous systems in real-world applications.
Thrust areas include autonomous and intelligent navigation systems for ground, aerial, and water surface vehicles, applications of autonomous navigation technologies in agriculture, defence, and disaster management, infrastructure monitoring for power lines, constructions, pipelines, and railway tracks, surveillance across maritime, airtime, and terrestrial environments, as well as environmental monitoring for air, water, and industrial pollutants.
Technological focus areas comprise AI and ML frameworks for autonomous navigation and multi-sensory data aggregation using UAVs and ROVs, IoT and CPS architectures for efficient vehicle operations in the Indian context, communications and networking technologies like DSRC and CV2X, edge computing for multi-sensory information processing, robotics related to autonomous systems, design for smart mobility, autonomous vehicle swarms and their applications, control, power and design aspects of UAVs and ROVs, and connected unmanned aerial, terrestrial, underwater, and underground systems.
The program offers funding of ₹25 Lakhs for a 12-month duration and provides mentorship to accelerate translational research and commercialization of innovative solutions.
Eligible applicants must be Indian companies with at least 51% Indian ownership, registered under the Companies Act or DIPP startup definition, incubated in government-supported technology parks, and have a proven track record in core areas of autonomous navigation and related technologies. Pre-registration is allowed, but selected companies must complete formal registration.
