Deadline: November 07, 2025
The AMALTEA project has announced its 1st Open Call, inviting SMEs and start-ups to propose cutting-edge digital and robotic solutions to transform the construction sector through sustainable facade applications.
The focus areas include the transformation of the curtain-wall facade value chain—from design to recycling—by leveraging robotics, AI, and data to reduce energy use, waste, and resource consumption while boosting safety, process reliability, and quality. The initiative also emphasizes the development of software and hardware solutions addressing challenges such as integrated data storage and standardization, parametric solutions for AI training, web-based graphical user interfaces, life cycle and cost assessment, advanced inspection and control systems, and adaptive manufacturing and quality control.
The programme offers two funding tracks: up to 100,000 Euros for innovative software solutions and up to 200,000 Euros for hardware-based projects. In total, the Open Call will select up to 10 projects, with a maximum budget allocation of 1.5 million Euros. Selected participants will benefit from mentoring by AMALTEA’s consortium partners, access to industrial pilot sites, and validation of their technologies in both industrial and real-world construction environments.
To ensure wide participation, the call is open to SMEs and start-ups registered as legal entities in EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries. Applicants must present innovative solutions that demonstrate scalability, compatibility with AMALTEA’s digital tools, and potential to advance technologies from TRL 3–5 to TRL 6–7 during the project. Non-profit legal entities are eligible for up to 100% funding within the specified limits.
The support programme is structured to provide both technical and business mentoring, with project timelines set at nine months for software solutions and twelve months for hardware projects. Funding will be disbursed in stages, linked to the achievement of milestones such as proof of concept, prototype development, and testing and validation.
Applications must be submitted through the designated online portal before 7 November 2025 at 17:00 Brussels Time.
