Deadline Date: January 20, 2026
The Dutch Film Fund and the Flanders Audiovisual Fund support co-productions between Dutch and Flemish filmmakers to strengthen collaboration, encourage new networks, and maintain existing partnerships in the film industry.
The focus areas include artistic merit, originality, urgency, high-quality scripts, creative and technical funding opportunities, release potential in both countries, international co-production benefits, professional expertise and creative exchange, festival success potential, and collaboration between Dutch and Flemish film sectors in feature films and documentaries. This program provides an opportunity for filmmakers to access funding for minority co-productions that have previously received production contributions from the Netherlands Film Fund or the VAF. The program promotes international visibility of Dutch film, enhances artistic vision, expands financial resources, and fosters professional expertise through cross-border collaboration.
Eligible projects must demonstrate strong creative input from both countries, the potential to appeal to audiences in the Netherlands and Flanders, and the possibility of achieving festival recognition. The program offers a maximum contribution of €200,000 for feature films and €50,000 for documentaries, with up to four feature films and three documentaries from each territory eligible for funding each year.
Applicants must be production companies legally established for at least two years in the Netherlands, an EU/EEA member state, or Switzerland, with a continuous record of producing and exploiting films. The Dutch minority co-producer represents the production company, and the majority producer must have previously completed a feature film or documentary with a cinema release in the Netherlands.
