Call for Proposals: Media Talent Progression Programme (Singapore)

Deadline Date: January 31, 2026

The Media Talent Progression Programme Content Grants are designed to strengthen Singapore’s media industry by expanding the pool of local talent experienced in producing high-quality content for international audiences.

The grants support the production of long-form projects that offer meaningful professional opportunities for Singapore-based media practitioners, helping them build stronger portfolios and gain industry exposure. By backing content that can travel across borders, the program seeks to position Singapore as a competitive creator and collaborator in the global media landscape.

The Long-Form Content Grant focuses on feature films of at least 70 minutes and is available under four categories. The New SG Director grant supports first- or second-time Singaporean or Permanent Resident directors who are developing their early careers and have yet to receive IMDA support for previous long-form works. The Southeast Asia Co-Production grant encourages projects originating from the Southeast Asian region and produced in partnership with a Singapore co-producer, with the aim of deepening regional creative collaboration. The Go-Global category targets international projects that have clear plans to reach audiences in at least three countries, including territories beyond Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, Go-Global+ is intended for large-scale, internationally positioned projects capable of reaching audiences in at least four countries, including major markets such as mainland China, North America, or Europe.

Funding support varies based on category. The New SG Director and Southeast Asia Co-Production grants offer up to $300,000 per project, helping emerging talent and regional collaborations gain momentum. The Go-Global grant provides up to $600,000 per project to support films positioned for wider international distribution. The Go-Global+ grant offers up to $900,000 or 50% of qualifying project expenses, whichever is lower, supporting ambitious productions aimed at major global markets and higher levels of recognition.

To be eligible, applicants must be Singapore-registered business entities engaged in media-related activities and must adopt the Tripartite Standard on the Procurement of Services from Media Freelancers. They must also have prior experience producing publicly screened long-form content, with the number of past completed projects varying by grant category. Similarly, the producer attached to the project must meet minimum experience levels, ensuring that the creative leadership is capable of delivering high-quality results.

By investing in diverse projects and scaling levels of international ambition, the MTPP Content Grants play a strategic role in elevating Singapore’s presence in global media, fostering strong creative collaborations, and nurturing a skilled and globally competitive talent workforce.
