The European Commission is now accepting grant applications to support projects for manufacturing innovative clean-tech components for hydrogen production/consumption, renewable energy and energy storage.
The support and advance innovative low-carbon technologies and processes to significantly mitigate climate change in sectors listed in Annex I and Annex III to the ETS Directive 2003/87, promoting sustainable development and technological leadership within Europe; Innovation in Low-Carbon Technologies and Processes; Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). This call is launched in accordance with the 2025 Financing Decision and will be managed by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA). The regulatory framework for this EU Funding Programme is set out in Regulation 2024/2509 (EU Financial Regulation) and the basic act consisting of the Innovation Fund Regulation 2019/856 and the ETS Directive 2003/87.
The estimated available call budget is EUR 2 900 000 000, subject to resource availability, with a possible increase of up to 20 percent. Under the INNOVFUND-2025-NZT–CLEAN-TECH-MANUFACTURING topic, a budget of EUR 1 000 000 000 is allocated. The activities supported under this opportunity include innovation in low-carbon technologies and processes in sectors listed in Annex I and Annex III to the ETS Directive 2003/87. These activities include projects focusing on the utilization of waste heat and improvements in electrification and energy efficiency within industrial processes and energy systems. The scope also includes activities involving environmentally safe carbon capture and utilisation that significantly mitigate climate change, as well as the development of products that substitute carbon-intensive products produced in sectors listed in Annex I to the ETS Directive.
The call further supports carbon capture and storage activities, including the construction and operation of projects focused on the environmentally safe capture and geological storage of CO₂. These actions are intended to contribute to significant greenhouse gas emission reductions while strengthening clean technology manufacturing and deployment.
Eligible applicants must be legal entities, whether public or private bodies, and may be established in any country worldwide. Beneficiaries and affiliated entities are required to register in the Participant Register prior to proposal submission and will be validated by the Central Validation Service, including the verification of legal status and origin.
