Deadline Date: February 14, 2026
The Business ACCESS-Ability Program by the Province of Nova Scotia offers cost-shared grants to support accessibility-related improvements within businesses, helping to create inclusive environments that persons with disabilities can access for business and employment opportunities.
The focus areas of the opportunity are improving overall accessibility and creating welcoming environments that persons with disabilities can access for business and employment opportunities; cost-shared grants covering up to 2/3 of accessibility improvements and up to $50,000; part of the Province of Nova Scotia’s commitment to equal opportunity and inclusive communities; and alignment with the Accessibility Act and the commitment to an Accessible Nova Scotia by 2030 (Access by design).
This program enables businesses to upgrade accessibility features without facing the financial burden alone, as the grant contributes a significant portion of associated improvement costs. The funding is intended to support improvements that enhance inclusivity for customers, employees, and community members with disabilities. Businesses that operate in Nova Scotia and are registered as for-profit entities with the Nova Scotia Registry of Joint Stocks, including locally owned franchises, are eligible if they are open for use by all community members at reasonable rates and reasonable times and not restricted by closed membership.
Businesses not registered in Nova Scotia, residential rental properties, franchises not locally owned, businesses restricted to members only, and not-for-profit agencies and municipalities are not eligible under this program.
