The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka has opened a call for identification for Trade for Aid projects to be implemented in Zambia in 2026.
The focus is on the following areas: Economic development including energy, Production capacity building, Implementation of EU-compatible standards, Revitalization of mining companies, Building economic zones, Strengthening the business climate, Building financial literacy, access to finance, Strengthening standards of operations including digital solutions, Development of small and medium enterprises, Related legislations, Transport infrastructure, Environment, Agriculture including the food industry, Forestry, etc.
This Aid for Trade project is conducted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and primarily aims to help partner countries facilitate and liberalize trade. Most projects currently receive a maximum funding of CZK 1 million including VAT. Interested organizations are invited to submit their proposals strictly by September 10th, 2025.
To participate, proposals must align with the above-mentioned focus areas and be done in collaboration with a Czech entity. The submitting Zambian partner must be a Zambian government entity, such as a ministry or municipality, or a private entity conducting the project with governmental support or knowledge. Applications must be delivered both as originals to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka and as scanned copies sent via email.
After the initial evaluation of submitted applications, successful applicants will face an additional evaluation round conducted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. The Embassy looks forward to receiving proposals that foster trade facilitation and economic development between Zambia and Czechia.
