Deadline Date: May 19, 2026
The European Commission is offering development and demonstration of advanced cabin acoustic optimization technologies to enhance noise reduction in next-generation regional aircraft.
Focus areas include the development and demonstration of innovative acoustic treatment technologies for cabin noise mitigation, ground demonstrations at TRL5 in representative noise and vibration environments, and the creation of lightweight and low-volume solutions compatible with integration into an ultra-efficient regional aircraft based on hybrid-electric propulsion.
The project aims to improve passenger comfort and aircraft performance by advancing acoustic treatment solutions that effectively reduce cabin noise. By focusing on hybrid-electric regional aircraft concepts, the initiative aligns with efforts to enhance both environmental sustainability and operational efficiency in aviation.
The demonstration activities will validate the performance of these technologies in realistic conditions, ensuring their readiness for integration into future aircraft designs. Emphasis is placed on achieving a balance between effective noise reduction and maintaining lightweight, space-efficient solutions suitable for modern aircraft configurations.
With a total funding allocation of €329,500,000, the opportunity is open to a wide range of global participants. Eligible entities include any legal entity, regardless of location, including organisations from non-associated third countries and international organisations, provided they meet the conditions outlined in the Horizon Europe Regulation and the specific requirements of the call.
Participants may include natural or legal persons recognized under national, EU, or international law, capable of exercising rights and obligations or operating without legal personality, enabling broad collaboration in advancing aviation acoustic technologies.
