Deadline: 28-February-2026
The Vienna Planet Fund supports companies and founders from around the world in realizing climate-friendly projects that contribute to advancing climate neutrality in Vienna.
The focus of the Vienna Planet Fund is on projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions or increase energy efficiency, as well as investments in environmentally friendly processes, production machinery, or facilities that lead to new products, services, or processes in Vienna and contribute to the long-term ecological development of businesses.
The Vienna Planet Fund provides financial support for Austrian and international companies implementing their climate projects in Vienna, including small, medium-sized, and large enterprises, as well as start-ups. Universities, universities of applied sciences, associations, and non-university research institutions can also participate through joint applications. The fund supports projects in all sectors that align with its environmental and sustainability objectives. Eligible costs include personnel expenses for project implementation, costs for external consulting and development services, and investments such as the purchase of machinery, equipment, licenses, intellectual property rights, and material costs.
The funding rate is 45%, with a minimum project size of €30,000 and a maximum funding amount of €250,000 per project. Projects can have a maximum duration of two years. An advance payment of up to 50% of the committed funding amount may be provided. In addition, a Women’s Bonus of €10,000 is available if the project is demonstrably led by a qualified woman, and a Start-up Bonus of €5,000 is awarded if a company is founded as part of the project.
Applications are accepted online between March 1, 2024, and February 28, 2026, with submission deadlines on October 31, 2025, and February 28, 2026. Applicants must submit a fully completed online funding application, an application confirmation, a de minimis declaration, a final annual financial statement or income and expenditure statement, and cost estimates for items exceeding €10,000 net. Submissions are evaluated by an independent jury that selects the best projects several times a year.
The Vienna Business Agency provides consultation and support at every stage of the process—from developing project ideas to submission, evaluation, and project completion—helping applicants navigate the funding process and maximize their impact on Vienna’s path toward sustainability.
