Deadline Date: March 17, 2026
The International Engagement Fund is inviting applications to support Australian artists and creative workers to undertake reciprocal international exchange activities with confirmed international partners.
The fund supports reciprocal exchange activities where all parties participate, share in, and benefit from the activity, including creative collaboration and development, cultural exchange and knowledge sharing, labs and practice-exchange models, with a focus on reciprocity, international collaboration, exchange, and cross-cultural knowledge sharing, while allowing projects to incorporate international presentation or promotional activities where reciprocity remains central.
Applicants can request funding between $5,000 and $30,000. The program is designed to encourage meaningful international partnerships that are built on shared participation and mutual benefit rather than one-sided engagement.
Eligible applicants include Australian artists and creative workers who do not work in contemporary music. Individuals, groups, and organisations, including small businesses, may apply. Individuals must be Australian citizens or permanent residents. International organisations are also eligible to apply if their projects benefit practicing Australian artists or creative workers, their work, or Australian audiences.
Applicants are not eligible if they have already applied to this closing date for the International Engagement Fund or to the 3 March 2026 closing date for the Arts Projects grant categories for the same activity. Those with overdue grant reports or outstanding debts to Creative Australia cannot apply. Applicants must have a confirmed international partner for their project. Organisations that receive investment through the National Performing Arts Partnership Framework, or those working with such organisations, are not eligible. Creative workers in contemporary music are also excluded from this fund.
