Deadline: October 06, 2025
Connected Places Catapult, as a delivery partner of the Hydrogen Innovation Initiative (HII), is inviting bids for near-term hydrogen demonstration projects.
The focus areas include hydrogen production or carrier conversion, hydrogen as a feedstock for industrial processes, hydrogen propulsion, power & fuel systems, hydrogen storage, and enabling technologies within these focus areas.
Successful projects can receive up to £100,000 (including VAT) to support real-world demonstration activities, with findings and results to be shared publicly to accelerate hydrogen technology and supply chain development across the UK. The call is seeking projects that are in progress or in advanced planning stages, aligned with the focus areas, and capable of delivering impactful demonstrations for the hydrogen industry. Projects must be conducted within the UK, reach Technology Readiness Levels 5–7, and involve a consortium of suitable partners.
Applications are open to organisations from industry, academia, or consortia that can evidence alignment with the focus areas, readiness to deliver, and clear demonstration impact. The programme officially starts in October and will conclude in March 2026.
The Hydrogen Innovation Initiative (HII) is led by the Catapult Network in collaboration with industry partners, supporting the growth of a globally competitive UK hydrogen technology and services sector, and enabling the development of innovative products and services for market deployment.
