Deadline: October 13, 2025
The City of Vincent offers the Business Enhancement Grant to support small-scale improvements that enhance street appeal and functionality in town centres and neighbourhoods.
The focus of this grant is to support business and property owners with enhancements that improve the street appeal and attractiveness of businesses, activate underutilised or vacant spaces, enhance safety and passive surveillance, increase business trade and activity, attract or retain customers, and positively impact the night-time economy, shoulder periods, or weekends. It also focuses on impacting the broader town centre or neighbourhood by improving visibility from the public realm, aligning with the surrounding streetscape, activating and increasing dwell times, and improving competitive advantage. Project planning quality, financial viability, and adherence to required permits and approvals are also prioritized.
This grant is a matched funding program, allowing applicants to apply for up to 50% of their eligible total project cost up to a maximum of $5,000 (no GST). Eligible applicants include small businesses with 1 to 19 full-time employees and an ABN, not-for-profit organisations or charities leasing commercial shopfronts, and strata bodies or property owners leasing commercial shopfronts to those applicants. Franchise businesses and those outside the City of Vincent are not eligible.
Eligible enhancements cover a wide range from external facade improvements and street furniture installation to integrated public art, lighting, landscaping, and adaptive reuse of spaces. However, enhancements primarily focused on business signage, maintenance of existing shopfronts, commenced projects, or those already funded by the City are ineligible.
Applications are accepted until 13 October 2025, requiring project details, photos, sketches, budgets, property owner consent, and understanding of necessary permits. Assessments consider the impact on business and the broader community, as well as project planning quality. Successful applicants will be notified by 17 November 2025, with projects to be completed by 15 May 2026.
