The Accelera FFI Preparatory Project autumn 2026 provides funding support for preparing system demonstrators that accelerate the transition towards fossil-free, safe, equitable and efficient road transport through highly mature solutions ready for future implementation and scaling.
The focus areas of the opportunity are system demonstrators, fossil-free road transport, safe transport solutions, equitable mobility, efficient road transport, high technical maturity solutions, preparation for system demonstrators, exploration of societal challenges through previous feasibility studies, mobilization of relevant actors, and development of plans for implementation, funding, utilization and dissemination of results.
The funding opportunity is part of the FFI Accelerera sub-programme within the Strategic vehicle research and innovation (FFI) collaboration, which focuses on larger system demonstrations. It supports innovative system solutions with high societal benefit that can be demonstrated on a large scale in real environments through broad collaborations.
The opportunity is open to groups of actors working together to prepare system demonstrators. This can include industry suppliers of solutions collaborating with need owners, users, research organizations and public actors.
Eligible projects can receive a maximum funding amount of SEK 900,000. Projects must include at least 25 percent co-financing from companies for the total project budget, with at least 10 percentage points coming from private industry.
The project duration can be up to 12 months. The funding level is determined according to state aid rules, with Vinnova financing a maximum of 75 percent of the project’s eligible costs.
The Strategic vehicle research and innovation (FFI) collaboration is a partnership between the state and the automotive industry that jointly supports research, innovation and development activities aimed at strengthening Sweden’s role in the global transition to sustainable road transport.
