Deadline Date: February 27, 2026
The Measures and Support Division within the Ministry responsible for the management of Union Funds has launched a Grant Scheme aimed at supporting Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises through non-repayable funding to procure business reports from external consultancy service providers.
This initiative focuses on promoting entrepreneurship, facilitating the economic exploitation of new ideas, fostering the creation of new firms, enhancing sustainable growth and competitiveness of SMEs, creating jobs in SMEs, and supporting innovative and smart economic transformation and regional ICT connectivity.
Under this Grant Scheme, external consultancy services can be engaged to carry out either a Process and Systems Review, aimed at improving the efficiency of the undertaking, or to develop a Business Plan addressing proposed investment initiatives to increase the competitiveness of the undertaking. The scheme targets eligible SMEs engaged in economic activity, irrespective of legal form, provided they are properly registered and meet the necessary legal requirements, including registration under the Second Schedule of the Civil Code where applicable.
The initial budget for the scheme from 1st January 2024 is €1,350,000, with a total allocated budget of €1,500,000 under the Business Reports for SMEs program. This funding is designed to provide part-financing for consultancy services procured from registered and independent service providers who are autonomous and unrelated to the beneficiary undertaking, ensuring objectivity and high-quality insights to support informed business decisions.
This Grant Scheme represents a strategic opportunity for SMEs to enhance operational efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainable growth through targeted external expertise, contributing to Malta’s broader objectives of a smarter, well-connected, and resilient economy.
