Deadline: 8-February-2026
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), in partnership with Berytech and the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture, has launched the Building Back Better recovery grant to support agri-food businesses affected by the 2024 conflict.
This program aims to help micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) restore operations, re-establish market linkages, protect and increase jobs, and build long-term resilience in Lebanon’s agricultural and agri-food sectors. The program provides grants of up to USD 15,000 to finance urgent operational and capital expenses, including equipment and facility repair, input and raw material purchase, energy and water system rehabilitation, and salaries or temporary labor. Participants also receive training in business continuity, financial management, digital transformation, and food safety practices, along with tailored technical assistance to strengthen operations, improve production efficiency, and ensure compliance with standards. Additionally, businesses gain access to market linkages, including connections to buyers, distributors, and institutional markets such as WFP’s retail network.
Eligible applicants are legally registered businesses operating in Lebanon within agriculture, agri-food, or related sectors, actively contributing to food production, processing, or distribution. Priority sectors include farming and primary production (vegetables, cereals, tropical and sub-tropical fruits), dairy processing (cheese, yogurt, labneh), and agri-food manufacturing (olive oil, bread, pickles, ready-to-eat meals), including packaging, distribution, and cold chain management. MSMEs engaged in time-sensitive seasonal activities, employing 5–19 staff, and demonstrating verifiable conflict impact will be given preference. Businesses must operate in or source from conflict-affected regions, maintain links with local farmers or producers, and comply with national regulations while upholding safeguarding, inclusion, and environmental standards. Special consideration will be given to women-led, youth-led, and disability-inclusive enterprises, as well as businesses employing diverse groups or contributing to community cohesion.
