The Building a Trustworthy Social Media Sphere: Countering Disinformation on Social Media for Young Europeans Programme aims to foster awareness and resilience among young Europeans aged 15-30 about information integrity risks while enhancing their media and digital literacy skills.
Focus Areas: Increased awareness about risks related to information integrity and boosting media literacy skills through high-quality, influencer- and youth-led content; new and lasting cross-sector, cross-border collaborations; heightening standards of information integrity especially among the community of influencers; positive social and well-being outcomes; sustainable knowledge-sharing; involvement of young Europeans and influencers in a participatory process; dissemination of multilingual content across at least thirteen EU Member States; fostering collaborations between information integrity professionals and influencers; collecting and sharing lessons learned on integrating information integrity best practices; design and implementation of participatory processes, youth-oriented content production, wide media literacy campaigns, and application of ethical guidelines and standards.
This call seeks to fund two innovative projects that focus on designing a participatory process involving young Europeans and influencers to share ideas and concerns related to the online information space. The projects will produce engaging multilingual multimedia content tailored to the needs and consumption habits of young people across at least thirteen EU Member States. A comprehensive digital media campaign will be implemented to disseminate the content broadly, promoting critical thinking and responsible online behavior. Ethical standards and guidelines on information integrity will be strictly followed to ensure accuracy, trustworthiness, and respect for privacy throughout content creation and dissemination. The projects also aim to create sustainable communities linking influencers, fact-checkers, and media literacy professionals to foster ongoing collaboration and knowledge sharing that will leave a lasting impact beyond the project duration. Positive social outcomes such as mitigating mental health pressures and curbing polarization are expected as a result of raising awareness on manipulative online content. The deadline for proposal submission is 2 December 2025, with a budget of 5,985,000 euros, supporting up to two grants.
