Deadline Date: September 25, 2026
The Biotech Call for Network Projects is requesting applications to support international partnerships in biotechnology to develop innovative solutions with strong market potential.
The focus areas include advanced biomanufacturing and ecosystem enablers such as scale-up and manufacturing of complex therapies, micro-factories for decentralised biomanufacturing, sustainable and green biomanufacturing, supply chain resilience and traceability, technology transfer optimisation, and technological integration and cross-sectoral transfer; next-generation therapeutics and modalities including innovative cancer treatments, targeted radiopharmaceuticals, mRNA-based vaccines, microbiome-based therapies and diagnostics, exosome-based therapies and delivery systems, innovative antibiotics, and neuroscience-focused modalities; agricultural and veterinary innovations such as agricultural biotechnology, development of new veterinary therapies, and integration of omics data into agronomic decision-making; and advanced diagnostics and data technologies including advanced bioinformatics and artificial intelligence for biotechnology, on-site molecular diagnostics, and in-situ biosensors for monitoring environmental conditions.
The Biotech Call for Network Projects aims to foster collaboration among countries within the Eureka Network by supporting small-scale projects with clear implementation plans and mutual benefits for all partners. Participating countries and regions include Austria, Belgium (Flanders), Belgium (Wallonia), Canada, Chile, Estonia, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Türkiye. Each country evaluates and funds its own project partners, ensuring balanced contributions across the consortium.
Projects must demonstrate strong innovation in biotech fields such as medicine, pharmaceutical products and services, life sciences, digitalisation, and process technologies, with a clear path toward commercialisation. The call emphasizes well-balanced consortia where partners from different countries contribute meaningfully and add value to the overall collaboration.
Eligible consortia must include at least two independent legal entities from a minimum of two participating countries, with no single organisation or country accounting for more than 70 percent of the project budget. Organisations from non-participating countries may also join if they secure their own funding.
The Swiss Eureka Chair is also hosting the Global Innovation Summit in Basel on May 6, 2026, alongside Swiss Biotech Day, offering participants an opportunity to connect, collaborate, and form partnerships for this call.
