The Emerging Technologies Commercialisation Fund is now accepting applications to support NSW startups in transforming innovative research into commercially viable products, services, and systems.
The program focuses on prototyping, product development and piloting studies, manufacturing and scaling, salaries and accessing external advice related to the project, conducting market research, testing and trials, regulatory approvals and relevant certifications, commercialisation strategies and feasibility studies, specialist equipment and infrastructure, and intellectual property protection or advice.
Startups in NSW can access funding ranging from $500,000 to $2 million to advance their projects. Eligible funding can be used for a variety of purposes, including prototyping, product development, scaling manufacturing, conducting market research and trials, obtaining regulatory approvals, developing commercialisation strategies, securing specialist equipment, and protecting intellectual property.
To be eligible, applicants must be a for-profit entity not listed on any public stock exchange, have an active Australian Business Number (ABN), and be headquartered in NSW. Additionally, as of 1 January 2026, more than 65% of full-time equivalent employees must be employed in NSW, and the startup must own or have exclusive rights to commercialise the intellectual property in Australia and globally.
