Deadline: March 06, 2026
The Aboriginal Tourism Development in NT Parks and Reserves Grant Program aims to ensure that Aboriginal people of the Northern Territory are respectfully supported to benefit economically, socially, and culturally by sharing their cultures through the tourism industry.
The Aboriginal Tourism Development in Northern Territory Parks and Reserves Grant Program helps NT owned and majority owned Aboriginal businesses and organisations develop tourism products in NT Parks by enabling Aboriginal cultural experiences and tourism products for park visitors, and supporting the NT Parks Masterplan 2023-2053 target of a 15 per cent increase in Aboriginal owned and operated tourism businesses in parks and reserves by 2032. The program provides grant funding to support the development of Aboriginal cultural experiences and tourism products in NT Parks, with applications accepted for a minimum funding value of $10,000 and up to a maximum of $100,000 per application.
The grant program is open to NT owned or majority owned Aboriginal businesses and organisations that are greater than 50% Aboriginal owned, legally constituted, Australian registered with an ABN or ACN, and operating in the Northern Territory. Eligible activities must be intended to occur in NT Parks and include new or the development of existing Aboriginal cultural experiences and tourism products, engaging consultants for feasibility and business planning, receiving business coaching, participating in tourism product familiarisations, assistance with applications and agreements, infrastructure upgrades, and improvements to enhance visitor experience, sustainability, accessibility, and inclusion.
Applications are merit-based and will be considered in the order they are received. The total funding available is $400,000, and grants will be paid in two instalments, with half upon submission of the first supplier invoice and the remainder upon acquittal. Grant activities must be completed by Friday 15 May 2026.
Successful applicants enter a legally binding funding agreement, adhere to “Buy Local” procurement provisions, and fulfil reporting and acquittal requirements. For assistance, interested parties may contact Tourism NT’s Aboriginal Tourism team or visit the official website.
