Deadline Date: March 05, 2026
The Social Innovation and Research Grant Program is inviting applications to support projects in Mauritius that develop innovative solutions to social challenges while fostering a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable society.
The focus of SIRGS is on adopting new social practices to meet social needs more effectively, prompting NGOs, higher education institutions, TVETs, government organisations, and private companies—preferably working collaboratively—to develop socially innovative projects that benefit Mauritian society, with an emphasis on research-driven interventions that define, monitor, and evaluate solutions to identified social problems.
Proposals should clearly demonstrate how the intervention offers a novel and practical solution, with projects judged on their potential as socially innovative responses to social challenges. Funding of up to Rs 1M per project is available for initiatives lasting no longer than 24 months.
Eligible entities include non-governmental organisations, registered higher education institutions, registered Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, government and private research institutions, government organisations, and private companies, preferably foundations or CSR arms seeking to expand their social and environmental impact.
