The Enabling Infrastructure Program Stream One offers grants for infrastructure projects with a funding range from $50,000 to $1 million to support regional development in South Australia.
The focus includes directly enhancing quality of life and/or supporting population attraction or retention in regional areas, supporting workforce and/or business attraction and retention, addressing service gaps in childcare, aged care, key worker accommodation and digital connectivity such as Wi-Fi infrastructure, collaboration with other projects or initiatives, financial sustainability, and adaptability to changing regional needs.
This program stream provides funding for infrastructure projects that are investment ready, scheduled to commence within six months and complete within two years following the execution of the funding agreement. Eligible applicants must be legal entities with an ABN and registered for GST, such as companies, partnerships, sole traders, co-operatives, statutory authorities, local governments, incorporated associations, registered charities, or companies limited by guarantee. Applicants must submit detailed applications including business plans, project plans, financial statements, and evidence of relevant approvals. The program requires a cash co-contribution ranging from 30% to 50% depending on the type of applicant. Grants are paid on a reimbursement basis after achievement of key milestones. The program aims to improve regional economies, create job opportunities, and deliver economic and social benefits through technically feasible infrastructure projects aligned with state government priorities.
