Deadline Date: January 20, 2026
The Ministry of Culture of Greece has opened a new call for proposals under its Dance funding programme, offering a valuable opportunity for classical and contemporary dance groups to receive support for their creative projects
Grant amounts vary depending on the applicant’s experience and the scale of their proposal. New groups without prior productions can apply for support starting from €8,000 provided they plan at least three performances. More established companies with recent productions may apply for larger grants up to €35,000, contingent on delivering multiple high-quality performances across Greece.
Under this initiative, funding is available for productions, dance festivals, tours, performances and any related events in classical or contemporary dance. The scheme also covers activities such as workshops, symposia, educational dance programs, or participation in national and international events, offering dance practitioners broad scope to express their art.
To be eligible, organisations must be registered in the national Registry of Cultural Actors and, if previously active, furnish artistic and financial reports for recent years. Proposals must involve professional dancers, include a realistic and well-justified budget, and present a robust artistic vision.
This call embodies a broader cultural ambition: to nurture contemporary dance, encourage creative experimentation, support new artists and groups, and bring dance productions beyond urban centers to regional communities. For dance troupes in Greece seeking institutional backing, this funding round offers a timely chance to bring ambitious ideas to the stage, reach new audiences, and contribute to the growth of the national dance scene.
