Deadline Date: March 13, 2026
The Business Reports Grant Scheme is offering to support small and medium-sized enterprises to obtain external consultancy services for developing business reports that support informed investment and operational decisions.
The scheme focuses on supporting SMEs in accessing external consultancy services, preparing business plans and process and systems reviews, improving business efficiency and competitiveness, promoting entrepreneurship and the economic exploitation of new ideas, fostering the creation of new firms, enhancing sustainable growth and competitiveness of SMEs, and encouraging job creation through productive investments.
The Business Reports for SMEs scheme will remain operational until 31 December 2026, subject to the availability of funds. The initial allocated budget for the programme from 1 January 2024 is €1,350,000, bringing the total initial allocated budget under the scheme to €1,500,000. The Grant value under this scheme is set at a lump sum of €4,000 representing an aid intensity of 80% of the eligible costs.
Small and medium-sized enterprises often face limitations in internal resources and expertise needed to conduct detailed studies that guide strategic investment decisions. As a result, many enterprises rely on external experts to develop reports and assessments that can support their growth and operational planning. This grant scheme has been designed to address this gap by assisting SMEs in accessing professional consultancy services.
Through the scheme, enterprises can receive non-repayable grants to partly finance the costs incurred for contracting external consultants. These consultants are engaged to prepare a Business Report for the enterprise, which may take the form of a Business Plan or a Process and Systems Review. These reports aim to help businesses become more efficient in their operations or strengthen their competitiveness in the market.
The initiative falls under Policy Objective 1 Programme which aims to create a more competitive and smarter Europe by promoting innovative and smart economic transformation and strengthening regional ICT connectivity. It also contributes to promoting entrepreneurship by supporting the economic exploitation of new ideas and encouraging the creation of new firms. In addition, the programme supports the enhancement of sustainable growth, competitiveness of SMEs, and job creation through productive investments.
Eligible applicants include micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises that are engaged in an economic activity regardless of their legal form. Enterprises that do not possess legal personality through the law applicable to their establishment are required to be registered under the Second Schedule of the Civil Code.
