Deadline Date: March 01, 2026
The South Australian Tourism Commission is inviting applications for its Algal Bloom Event Support Fund to support tourism recovery and strengthen community resilience in areas affected by South Australia’s algal bloom crisis.
The fund focuses on supporting established events in eligible coastal and metropolitan areas affected by algal bloom, with the objectives of stimulating visitation, driving economic recovery, and fostering community connection during the recovery period.
The Algal Bloom Event Support Fund provides a total funding pool of $750,000, allocated across metropolitan and regional grant areas. Grants of up to $20,000 per event are available, with $250,000 dedicated to metropolitan events and $500,000 allocated to regional events. All funding amounts are exclusive of GST where applicable.
Eligible events must be existing events held in impacted South Australian coastal areas between 1 December 2025 and 31 March 2026 and must be delivered by organisations with prior event management experience or those engaging individuals with such experience. Event organisers are required to demonstrate their capacity to deliver marketing, audience development, or enhanced programming to stimulate visitation and regional confidence.
Applicant organisations must be legal entities capable of entering into binding agreements, hold an Australian bank account and a valid ABN, and possess all required approvals, licences, and accreditations necessary to deliver the event. Organisations must also hold a minimum of $20 million in public liability insurance and any other insurance reasonably expected for the proposed activities.
