Deadline Date: April 23, 2026
The Agri-Business Innovation Grant Program is inviting applications to support agricultural operators in expanding markets, increasing revenues, and implementing innovative or value-added technologies.
The program focuses on new infrastructure that enhances agri-tourism experiences such as corn mazes, on-farm workshops, or events, supports direct-to-consumer sales including pick-your-own and roadside stands, promotes organic or small-scale farming like free-range chickens, enables small-scale food and beverage processing such as cheese-making on-site, and encourages bioproduct farming as defined by Ontario’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA).
The Municipality will fund 50% of the total project cost, excluding taxes, up to a maximum of $5,000. By supporting these initiatives, the program aims to strengthen the local agricultural sector, enhance rural economic opportunities, and encourage innovative practices in farming and agri-business.
Eligible applicants must be tenants or property owners of agriculturally zoned land within the Community Improvement Project Area and must complete a pre-consultation with the Community Improvement Program Administrator prior to application. Projects must comply with municipal by-laws, may require building or sign permits before commencement, and must not have started prior to grant approval.
Properties with tax arrears or non-conformity issues are ineligible. Applicants are required to provide a minimum 50% cash contribution, and eligible costs must be actual documented outlays to third parties or material costs for self-performed work. Projects must be completed within the funding year unless an extension is approved.
