Deadline Date: March 16, 2026
The 1st Transition Agendas Open Call by BlueActionBANOS supports the foundational planning necessary for achieving long-term sustainability within the Baltic and North Sea basin.
The focus areas of the opportunity are decarbonising coastal zones, circular blue economy, sustainable blue tourism, ecosystem-based fisheries management, marine restoration, climate adaptation, plastic and nutrient pollution reduction and other goals that support Mission Ocean objectives. In this call, BlueActionBANOS will select approximately 10 Transition Agendas to develop strategic roadmaps for sustainable systemic shifts targeting Mission Ocean objectives in the Baltic and North Sea. Selected projects are expected to prepare multi-year plans that contribute to a sustainable and resilient marine environment, outlining pathways that guide both planning and future implementation.
Financial support of up to €100,000 is available per Transition Agenda, based on the budget included in the full proposal, ensuring substantial support for coordinated planning activities across the basin. The maximum amount granted to any single entity within a Transition Agenda Consortium is €60,000.
The call is open to a wide range of applicants linked to the Baltic and North Sea communities. Eligible entities include regional and local authorities including island and waterfront authorities, non-governmental organisations, foundations and professional associations engaged in local development, nature conservation, environmental protection, sustainable use of marine resources or blue economy activities.
Educational establishments, research performing organisations and similar are also eligible, along with locally based companies, SMEs and startups provided there is no conflict with State Aid rules. Eligibility further extends to enterprises, cooperatives and other registered organisations fostering inclusion, skills development or sustainable blue economy activities, as well as financial institutions or registered cooperatives supporting sustainable investments or local development initiatives, and any other legal entities in the described communities.
