The Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship is an entrepreneurship acceleration program designed to support promising African EdTech ventures and prepare them for scale, sustainability, and impact.
The focus areas of this opportunity include provides select EdTech companies with critical business and financial support, insight into the science of learning, fostering collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship, specialized support from sector experts aligned with the unique challenges and opportunities of your startup, structured curriculum designed to accelerate the growth and development of EdTech start-ups, valuable opportunities to showcase your solutions to key stakeholders, and $60,000 equity-free funding.
This program is dedicated to catalyzing positive change in education by equipping the next generation of learners with the tools and opportunities they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. It embraces an approach that connects promising EdTech enterprises with the resources needed to strengthen their business models and educational impact. By linking ventures to expert guidance, market exposure, and learning science insights, the Fellowship supports participants in refining their solutions and expanding their reach.
Selected ventures benefit from a mentorship network that provides sector-specific expertise to address the unique needs and challenges of EdTech organisations. The structured growth curriculum enhances the capacity of participating startups, enabling them to advance their products, strengthen operations, and impact more learners across Ghana.
Market access opportunities further elevate participating companies by creating avenues to present their innovations to key stakeholders, increasing their visibility and adoption potential. In addition to strategic support, each selected business receives equity-free funding that serves as critical capital to scale their educational technology solutions.
To be eligible, applicants must be incorporated in Ghana and have been operational for at least three years. They must offer a tech or tech-enabled solution designed to improve educational outcomes, possess a working product with active users, and demonstrate potential to reach at least eight thousand learners. Applicants should have an inclusive and diverse team committed to education and may be startups, SMEs, or NGOs.
