WeWork – Green and Decent Jobs for Youth is a 24-month initiative designed to empower young entrepreneurs in Uganda who are building businesses within the green and circular economy by providing incubation, financing, and technical support.
The project focuses on empowering youth-led businesses operating in the green and circular economy (CGE) by providing incubation, financing, and technical support.
Implemented in collaboration with Enabel, the Belgian Agency for International Cooperation, under the Global Gateway strategy and funded by the European Union and Belgium, the initiative supports young innovators working to create sustainable and decent employment opportunities. The program is specifically tailored to strengthen early-stage enterprises that demonstrate a working prototype or clear proof of concept.
Eligible applicants are youth aged 18–35 who are developing innovative solutions within the green and circular economy. Applicants must be operating in the Busoga Sub-region, including Jinja, Jinja City, and Kamuli. They should have early traction or a functioning prototype and must be committed to participating in residential bootcamps and coaching sessions, as well as willing to undergo financial and compliance support.
Selected founders will participate in an intensive one-week residential bootcamp led by expert business trainers. During this immersive experience, entrepreneurs will refine their business models and strengthen their financial and operational capabilities to better position their ventures for growth.
Those who advance to the incubation phase will receive 4.5 months of tailored, one-on-one coaching. This support focuses on accelerating revenue growth, enhancing job creation potential, and improving access to markets.
Outstanding founders will also have the opportunity to receive seed grants to unlock the next stage of their business growth. These grants are intended to support improvements in prototypes, operational systems, and revenue-generating activities, ensuring that youth-led enterprises are better equipped to scale sustainably.
