Deadline Date: March 25, 2026
Young EDGE is a unique opportunity designed to support companies whose directors are all aged between 18 and 30, providing them with the chance to secure grant funding to grow their business.
Focus areas for Young EDGE include Value Proposition, Team, Impact, Customer Focus, Business Growth, and Utilisation of Funding.
Young EDGE operates as a special category within the Scottish EDGE competition, specifically targeting companies led entirely by young directors, excluding Non-Executive Directors and Investors. While all applicants must meet the standard Scottish EDGE eligibility, Young EDGE offers an additional route to gain recognition and funding, with awards of up to £15,000 available as grants.
Eligible applicants undergo the same first-stage assessment process as other Scottish EDGE participants. If successful, they are invited to pitch live at the Young EDGE Final, where the judging panel selects winners based on the established assessment criteria. The top Young EDGE winner is then awarded a place at a future Scottish EDGE Semi-Final, providing further exposure and growth opportunities.
Throughout the competition, assessment remains consistent, focusing on the business’s value proposition, the strength and capability of the team, potential impact, customer focus, business growth potential, and effective utilisation of any funding received. This ensures that Young EDGE participants are evaluated on the same rigorous standards as other entrants, fostering both fairness and excellence.
