The Tony Elumelu Foundation 2026 Entrepreneurship Programme provides African entrepreneurs with seed capital, world-class business training, mentorship, and access to networks and market opportunities to grow their ventures
The programme focuses on empowering entrepreneurs across Africa to innovate, scale their businesses, and create sustainable impact in their communities. The focus areas, objectives, and priorities of the programme include providing US$5,000 in non-refundable seed capital to selected entrepreneurs, offering world-class business training to enhance entrepreneurial skills, connecting participants with expert mentors to guide business growth, fostering access to networks and market opportunities across Africa, and building a community of African entrepreneurs for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation.
The programme also aims to celebrate and expand impact by supporting a growing network of entrepreneurs on TEFConnect, including partnerships, mentorship, and entrepreneurial engagement across all 54 African countries.Participants in the programme join the largest network of African entrepreneurs, collaborating and innovating within a supportive ecosystem. Since its inception, the foundation has supported over 2.5 million Africans on TEFConnect, engaged more than 9,000 mentors, and created hundreds of partnership opportunities, enabling entrepreneurs to scale their ventures and make measurable impact in their communities.
Eligibility for the programme includes being an African entrepreneur, having a business idea or an existing business operating in Africa, being at least 18 years old, and meeting specific programme requirements.
