Deadline: September 23, 2025
The Ageas Insure Program by Grupo Ageas Portugal and MAIZE is inviting startups to collaborate through a structured Proof of Concept (PoC) pathway designed to drive innovation in the insurance sector.
The program focuses on three key challenge areas: Intelligent Process Innovation, which seeks solutions that deliver immediate, iterative improvements across key operational areas to boost internal efficiency by automating manual tasks and seamlessly integrating data; Next-gen Customer Engagement, which aims at integrating modern digital solutions to enhance clarity, engagement, and efficiency in customer interactions to create seamless, personalized, and proactive experiences; and Pioneering the Future of Insurance, which looks at iterative product development to address the unique needs of emerging segments such as Silver and SMEs, by developing data-driven insurance products through preventive health and dynamic pricing strategies.
Startups applying to the program must already have a technologically verified and working product or service that is either launched or ready for market release, along with a complete team. Solo entrepreneurs, ideas, or projects without a working product will not be considered.
The selection process will be conducted in stages. First, Grupo Ageas Portugal and MAIZE will analyze all applications to shortlist the most promising startups. These shortlisted ventures will then join a deep-dive meeting to explore synergies with Grupo Ageas Portugal, followed by an in-person collaboration workshop in Lisbon, where feasibility of the PoC will be assessed. The final decision will be made by a jury composed of Grupo Ageas Portugal C-level executives, with seven startups advancing to the collaboration exploration phase.
The program structure includes multiple phases: the collaboration exploration meeting in Lisbon, a remote kickoff, PoC execution with project design meetings, a mid-term evaluation, and a final meeting where results will be presented. The program will run from Autumn 2025 for approximately 6–9 months, primarily in digital format, with mandatory in-person presence in Lisbon for the collaboration and closing meetings.
Selected startups will receive financial support of up to €15,000 for PoC development along with logistical perks, although other expenses are not covered by the program. No equity will be taken from participating companies, and while the program is not investment-focused, investment opportunities may arise through connections with Grupo Ageas Portugal’s corporate venture fund.
