The SI Global Executive Programme offers senior executives the opportunity to integrate sustainability into core business strategies and drive transformative change.
The programme focuses on advancing social, ecological, and economic sustainability within planetary boundaries, building expertise in strategic business development for sustainability and the green transition, strengthening leadership skills to manage change and complexity, providing insights from Swedish business cases in sustainability, facilitating guidance from field experts for personal and business development, fostering collaboration and peer exchange among senior executives, connecting participants with Swedish businesses and organisations, and granting access to the global Swedish Institute Alumni Network.
In today’s interconnected world, business leaders face increasing pressure to deliver results that are both profitable and socially responsible. The SI Global Executive Programme is designed for senior executives committed to aligning business growth with sustainable impact. Participants gain practical insights from Sweden’s leading organisations and leaders in the green transition and apply these lessons directly to their own business context.
A hallmark of the programme is its global perspective, bringing together around 100 senior executives from 24 countries. This creates a dynamic learning environment rooted in shared challenges, diverse experiences, and peer exchange. Participants benefit from a combination of real-world business cases, expert facilitation, and structured guidance that strengthens their ability to lead sustainable change.
The programme is open to executives holding senior leadership positions in medium to large companies, who are at least 30 years old, have a post-secondary qualification, and are proficient in English. Applicants should represent companies operating in industries tied to the green transition, including renewable energy, responsible mining, sustainable transportation, and digitalisation. Companies should be committed to running sustainably and capable of implementing practices that drive environmental and social impact.
The Swedish Institute covers programme-related fees, pre-arranged accommodation in Stockholm, and meals during the onsite visit. Participants are responsible for travel to and from Stockholm, although limited support may be available upon request.
